Hello everyone,
For my first post in this blog, I thought I'd share my background with you -- particularly for those of you who don't know me (yet!).
My name is Amanda Roberts, and I am the CEO of Bean 231. I founded our coffee company in 1997, and since then we have enjoyed both financial success and exponential growth, even during our recent economic recession. While I was in college, I developed a love for coffee and the coffee shop atmosphere while working at PJ's Coffee & Tea in New Orleans. After I graduated from Loyola University, I worked as a freelance writer and advertising copy editor for a few years, and then I entered the world of librarianship. My professional experiences in research, my time in advertising, and my leadership experience as President of the American Library Association's NMRT all helped prepare me for my future role as a business owner.
Today, I spend most of my days at our headquarters location, talking to potential franchise owners, meeting with department supervisors, and strategizing for our future. In my off hours, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 6-month-old daughter. I look forward to meeting each of you in the coming weeks.
